Growing up, I was surrounded by business. My dad owned a local bar and ran a plumbing business, and I had a front-row seat to the ups and downs of entrepreneurship. As I got older, I became more aware of the inner workings of business operations, and I realized I had a passion for helping businesses run more efficiently and strategically. I knew that one day, I wanted to make an impact by helping business owners—just like my dad—improve and grow their companies.
When I went to college, I pursued a degree in Applied Business Analytics, hoping to use data-driven insights to help businesses optimize their operations. However, life threw an unexpected curveball—COVID-19 shut down the bar, and my dad needed a change. Watching him navigate this difficult transition sparked an idea: what if I could create a virtual assistance business that helped people like my dad regain control, improve their operations, and fall in love with their businesses again?
I started small, taking on my first client as a Pinterest manager. It was a humble beginning, but it was a start. Then, an amazing opportunity came my way—Write | Publish | Sell, The Women in Publishing Summit, and Purple Butterfly Press took a chance on a college student with a dream. Their trust in me was the catalyst that turned my side hustle into a full-fledged business.
Through word-of-mouth referrals, dedication, and a lot of learning along the way, my business grew beyond what I initially imagined. It hasn’t always been easy—there have been challenges, tough clients, and moments of doubt—but each experience taught me more about who I work best with, what services I love providing, and how I can make the biggest impact.
Looking back, my biggest takeaway is this: If you have a business idea, no matter what stage of life you’re in—go for it! Passion is the driving force behind success. Don’t wait for the perfect moment. Instead, take the first step, do your research, seek support, and just start. And if you ever need help brainstorming, strategizing, or setting up your business, reach out to a virtual assistant—we bring immense value and can help turn your vision into reality!
