As a virtual assistant, it feels a little silly to admit that I might need an assistant.
But—spoiler alert—I was wrong.

If you’ve been following Sunshine Virtual Services for a while, you probably know that I wear a lot of hats: wife, mom to one (plus one on the way), dog mom, homemaker, and full-time business owner. I work from home, homeschool my toddler, and manage a growing client list of authors, entrepreneurs, and small businesses.

And don’t get me wrong—I love what I do. Every single one of those “jobs” brings me joy.
But that doesn’t mean it’s easy.

Between shuttling my toddler to activities, planning playdates, managing projects, exercising the dogs, keeping the house running, and—oh yeah—growing a new human, I sometimes feel like I’m starring in my own juggling act. (I’m sure some of you reading this can relate!)

The Work That Fills My Cup

Here’s something not many people know about me: I genuinely love my work. I thrive on helping my clients bring their visions to life—whether it’s designing an email campaign, optimizing a website, or building out marketing strategies.

My clients push me to learn and grow. They give me a chance to share my talents outside my home (because, let’s be honest, my toddler couldn’t care less about analytics, marketing funnels, or SEO!).

And that’s the beauty of outsourcing—you don’t have to love all the moving parts of your business. That’s where people like me come in.

When Burnout Comes Knocking

Recently, I hit a wall.
For about two weeks, I couldn’t focus. I dreaded opening my laptop. Even though I was meeting deadlines, I still felt completely unproductive. At first, I thought I was just tired—turns out, those two weeks were also the first two weeks of my pregnancy!

But that moment was a wake-up call.
It reminded me that I can’t (and shouldn’t) do it all on my own.

If I expect myself to run a business, support my clients’ businesses, manage my household, and raise a family—all without support—it’s only a matter of time before burnout sets in again.

The Truth: Even Virtual Assistants Need Help

So, here’s the lesson I learned and want to pass on to you: don’t wait until burnout hits to ask for help.

Whether it’s outsourcing tasks, hiring a virtual assistant, or simply delegating responsibilities at home—give yourself permission to not do it all.

There are incredible virtual assistants out there (and yes, Sunshine Virtual Services is one of them!) who can help you manage the chaos so you can focus on what truly matters.

And if you’re already at that point where you’re not sure which way is up, consider getting a free business audit with a VA. It’s an easy, judgment-free way to get clarity, direction, and a little breathing room.

Because let’s face it—we could all use a little more rest and a lot less burnout.

Here’s to doing it all… without doing it all alone.
